316 Stainless Steel
Properties and characteristics
Grade 316 is the standard molybdenum-bearing grade, second in importance to 304 amongst the austenitic stainless steels.
The molybdenum gives 316 better overall corrosion resistant properties than Grade 304, particularly higher resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments. It has excellent forming and welding characteristics. 316 is used extensively in marine environments.
We can supply 316 in sheet in thicknesses 0.5mm/0.70mm/1.00mm/1.2mm/1.5mm and 2mm.
We can also supply 316 in sprung condition (subject to minimum quantity restrictions as further processing is required.)
