CS70 (C67S) carbon spring steel

Introduction

1.1231

CS70 Carbon Steel is a grade within BS1449.

CS70 Carbon Steel is the equivalent to C67S and AISI /SAE 1070.

Considered a high carbon steel, CS70 (C67S) is used in the manufacture of springs. In the annealed condition (normally 185 vpn max) it can be pressed, formed etc. and is normally hardened and tempered after shaping operations. We hold stock from 0.20mm through to 3.25mm. Whilst we can supply single sheets our minimum quantity for strip in coil is 10 kilos

An alternative grade for light spring manufacturing, without the necessity to heat treat after forming is 301 spring temper stainless. BSS stock a wide range of 301. If you need more information call us.
