L3 is a low alloy special purpose tool steel.
It is used for manufacturing dies, jigs, spindles, punches, drills, bearings and gauges.
L3 Chemical Composition
Carbon – 0.75 – 0.95%
Manganese – 1.00% max
Silicon – 1.00% max
Molybdenum – 0.75% max
Chromium – 16 – 18%
Sulphur – 0.030% max
Phosphorous – 0.040% max
We can supply L3 sheet in a range of thicknesses from 2.0 mm to 12.8 mm in the hot rolled annealed condition.
We do not supply Mill Certificates with orders, we only supply Certificates of Conformity.
